Adopt a Campsite

Make it yours! The Adopt a Campsite program allows your pack, troop, or crew to choose a campsite or other building on camp and provide service to improve the facility so that your unit, and all the other Scouts who will use it, have a better camping experience. In return, your unit will receive perks like using the facility for free three times per year (subject to district/council event schedule and the facility selected) and priority registration for summer camp.

Below is a list of the campsites and buildings on camp which are available to be adopted. Units participating in the program are expected to spend a minimum of 50 man-hours of work and a minimum of $250 in materials per year.  The result will be an improved experience for everyone who uses the facility!

  • Individual Campsites (1 through 13)
  • Adirondack Shelters
  • Offutt Shelters
  • Picnic Shelter
  • Handicraft Shelter
  • Kingsley Shelter (Pioneer)
  • Lee Shelter (Outdoor Skills)
  • Keeneland Lodge (this facility does not qualify for free usage—an alternate site may be substituted)
This barbecue grill in Campsite 3 was built through the Adopt a Campsite program.
