Support Camp

Hundreds of Scouts use Camp McKee every year to experience the outdoors and learn more about Scouting and about themselves. The Scouts reap the benefits, but it is the efforts and gifts of dedicated volunteers and people who care deeply about camp which makes this possible. To all who have given time, talent, or treasure to support Camp McKee’s efforts to serve youth, a big thank you from the camp and from the Blue Grass Council!

Help make camp better for hundreds of Scouts—and earn service hours for rank advancement, school, or community outreach at the same time! McKee is always in need of people who want to tackle projects to improve the camp facilities, which directly benefits Scouts during summer camp and the off-season. Past projects have included reconstructing trails, painting camp buildings, building a retaining wall by one of our cabins, and more.

The Adopt a Campsite program allows a pack, troop, or crew to choose a campsite or other building on camp and provide service to improve the facility so that that unit, and all the other Scouts who will use it, have a better camping experience. In return, the adopting unit receives perks like using the facility for free three times per year (subject to district/council event schedule and the facility selected) and priority registration for summer camp.

In order to operate successfully, Camp McKee needs vehicles and equipment. This page lists Camp Ranger Ken Green’s crucial equipment needs. Keep in mind that donations to camp are tax-deductible.
